Fairfax, Virginia, January 26, 1999 -- Ric Edelman, one of the country's leading financial advisors and a best-selling author, has been named to host the February 19 and 26 editions of WETA's "This Week In Business" (locally: Fridays at 9pm; repeats Saturdays at 1pm and 6:30pm. Nationally: check local listings).
The series covers the week's most important business stories, featuring a rotating panel of experts, including journalists, newsmakers, government officials and corporate CEOs. The February 19 show will focus on divorce and re-marriage while the February 26 show is on estate planning.
Edelman is no stranger to broadcast journalism, having had more than 10 years of broadcast experience. He also hosts an award-winning, personal finance call-in radio show each Saturday morning from 10am to 11:45am on WMAL Radio 630 in Washington, D.C., and on WLS AM 890 from 6pm to 8pm in Chicago, Ill. Edelman also hosts two weekly television shows, one on the national "America's Voice" cable television program each week and a personal finance show on Newschannel 8 in this area.
Edelman is chairman of Edelman Financial Services Inc., which manages more than $900 million for individuals and businesses in the United States and in six foreign countries. In December of 1998, Edelman was named by Ticker Magazine, as one of the country's top five financial planners.
