FAIRFAX VA, January 2004 - Ric Edelman, founder and chairman of Edelman Financial Services Inc., has been inducted into the Advisor Hall of Fame.

Now in its 14th year, The Advisor Hall of Fame honors the nation's finest financial advisors. Inductees "demonstrate superior client service and have earned recognition from their peers and the broader community for the honor they reflect on their profession," state the editors of Research magazine, sponsors of the program. The award, says the magazine, "has become a barometer of excellence in our industry."

"It is an honor to be included in such a prestigious group of individuals," said Mr. Edelman. He attributes his success to focusing exclusively on the two cornerstones of his organization: client service and education. "Most advisors tell their clients what to do," said Edelman. "Instead, we teach people how to do it, and then we help them do so on an ongoing basis."

Edelman is a best-selling author of five books, including The Truth About Money and Ordinary People, Extraordinary Wealth, with more than one million copies in print. His company, Edelman Financial Services Inc., is one of the largest independent financial planning firms in the nation, with $2.5 billion in assets under management. The firm has won more than 60 financial, business, community and philanthropic awards in its 18-year career. Ric is also a nationally syndicated newspaper columnist, hosts weekly radio and TV shows in Washington, D.C., is the founder of the Edelman Center for Personal Finance Education and hosts an educational web site at RicEdelman.com.

Edelman also serves on the boards of the United Way of the National Capital Area, the Washington National Opera and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, D.C.
