Nurses devote their careers to serving others. Now, they get to be the ones being served.
Fairfax, VA., May 13 -- In recognition of National Nurses Week, Edelman Financial Services LLC is offering the nation’s nurses a free checkup of their retirement assets in 403(b) and other employer-sponsored plans, to ensure that nurses are adequately preparing for retirement.Nurses devote their careers to serving others. Now, they get to be the ones being served.
“Nurses are overworked, underpaid and frequently under appreciated,” said nationally renowned financial planner Ric Edelman. He and his wife Jean are long-time supporters of nurses, having founded the Edelman Nursing Career Development Center at Inova Health Systems Foundation. They are the 2009 recipients of the American Journal of Nursing, AJN-Beatrice Renfield Caring for the Caregiver Award, and Jean has served on the Inova Nursing Advisory Council for five years.
“Nurses devote all their time looking after everyone else’s needs, and too often they ignore their own needs — especially when it comes to their personal finances. That’s why my firm is honored to provide these no-cost reviews for nurses. We want to make sure that nurses are taking just as good care of their finances as they are taking of us,” Ric Edelman said.
Edelman Financial Services is one of the nation’s largest independent financial planning and investment management firms. To take advantage of this pro bono service, nurses should call 1-888-PLAN-RIC and identify themselves as a nurse or click here to request a free financial checkup.
The Ric Edelman Show is nationally syndicated by Citadel Media (formerly ABC Radio Networks). Ric’s seven books include his current best-seller, Rescue Your Money. His second PBS television special, Rescue Your Retirement, airs in June.
